Hi, I’m Gilles Dubé, owner of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Monteregie Metro. Prior to joining 1-800-GOT-JUNK? I was a sales rep for a Quebec based wood flooring company. In 2005, an article in USA Today about 1-800-GOT-JUNK? got my attention as an amazing growing brand in North America. From there, I got in touch with the company in Vancouver to start up my own franchise. I was the first person to open a franchise in La Belle Province of Quebec!
Today the franchise has expanded and now servicing all the South Shore of Montreal with our fleet of trucks. We service all cities like Longueuil, Brossard, St-Hubert, Boucherville, Saint-Bruno and THE surrounding area.
When I moved into Longueuil, I had a few renovations going on at home. After a few trips to the city dump, I realized just how much of my time it took up, and it made me think that there should be another way dealing with this boring and difficult work. It opened my eyes to the junk industry!
What gives me the most joy out of my days is helping people get their space or their time back. The other thing I enjoy is working closely with my teams to help them develop their careers and grow in their personal lives.
We are a member of several chambers of commerce in our area, including Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de la Rive Sud (CCIRS), Association des gens d'affaires de Brossard (AGAB), and Reso Velo. We support the Salvation Army and Renaissance by donating a lot of stuff to them as well.
When I’m not dealing with junk at work, I really enjoy riding my 2 bikes, MTB and road. I participate in a couple of races during the summer. In the winter, I enjoy alpine skiing. I was a racer until my early 20s and I enjoy going fast! I really love traveling and bring all my equipment when possible. I usually take one trip in summer for biking and 1 during winter to discover new mountains.
