Frequently asked questions

How do I get rid of old bikes?

There are several ways to get rid of old bicycles. If your bike is in good condition or can easily be repaired, you might consider donating your old bike to a charity, thrift store, or acquaintance in need of a bike. You may even be able to donate your broken bike for parts.

If your bike can’t be fully repaired, you can recycle your bicycle at a local specialty recycling facility. Contact your local recyclers to find out if they can accept bikes for recycling.

Can old or broken bicycles be recycled?

Yes, you can recycle bicycles! Before taking it to a recycling facility, consider the condition your bike is in. If it’s still in working order or could easily be fixed up, donating it is the best option. Even if it can’t be fully repaired, it could potentially be used for parts to help fix up other bikes. It’s always best to see if your bike can be fixed or used in other ways before deciding to send it for recycling.

If your bike is at the end of its life cycle, nearly every piece can be recycled. Bikes frames, chains, and brake pads are made of metal and rubber that can be disassembled, broken down, and made into brand new products. Old bicycle parts can even be reused and built to make new bicycles!

Make sure to check with your local recycling facility to see if they recycle bikes, as not all facilities are equipped to handle them.

Markel and Will came out and were amazing! They helped get rid of some hard stuff that we had trouble moving. They were super friendly and very professional and we would love for them to come back and help again when we need to get rid of some more junk in the future.

Antonio and Kevin were great to work with! They came out on a cold snowy evening and were so professional and kind! They were quick and hauled away items from our basement and other yard items. We were calling places to compare prices and they were the most responsive and fair company!
